The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received financing in the amountof US$ 210 million from the World Bank toward the cost of the Pastoral Community Development Project-III and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
Pastoral Community Development Project-III will have four components/Parts. Part A of the project deals with Community Driven Service Provision with special focus on i) Community Investment Fund ii) Support for Institutionalizing the CDD Approach and ii) Community Level Self-monitoring and Learning.
Part B of the project is Rural Livelihoods Program which has three sub components. i) Promotion of New Pastoral Savings and Credit Cooperatives, ii) Identification and Development of Livelihood Opportunities, and iii) Promotion of Adaptive Research and Innovative Practices.
Part C of the project which is Development Learning and Knowledge Management hastwo sub components. i) Policy Consultation and Knowledge Management, and ii) Communication and Internal Learning.
Part D of the project works on Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation and will have two sub components. i) Project Management, and ii) Monitoring and Evaluation.

Procurement for the project would be carried out in accordance with the World Bank's "Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits" dated January 2011 (the Procurement Guidelines); and "Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers" dated January 2011 (the Consultant Guidelines).
Specific procurement notices (SPN) for contracts to be bid under the World Bank's International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy serviceswill be announced, as they become available, in (a) UN Development Business, (b) One newspaperwith national circulation in Ethiopia, and (c) PCDP website (wwwpcdp.gov.et)
