1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. 742 dated January 16, 2009.
2. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Institutional Development for Education Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for Procurement of furniture for basic education model school, with no. KOS-IDEP-H3420-C3.3-G-ICB-12-02.
3. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for Procurement of furniture for basic education model school (wooden/metal chairs, teacher/office desks, cabinets, shelves, drawers, blackboards, kitchen units, physical education equipment, etc.).
4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines May 2004, Revised May 2005, September 2006, May 2007 and May 2010..
5. Interested eligible biddersmay obtain further information from Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Attn: Edita Alo, email: idep.ealo@gmail.com, and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 09:00 -16:00 (Kosovo time).
6. Qualifications requirements include:
Business Registration Certificate;
Fiscal Registration Certificate (for domestic firms only);
Evidenceto demonstrate that during the past four (4) years the Bidders must have completed at least two (2) successful contracts as a contractor involving the delivery and assembly of similar furniture.
A marginof preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.
7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee 50 euro. The method of payment will be by bank transfer to:

8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 14:00 h (Kosova Time), January 18, 2013. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 14:00 h (Kosova Time), January 18, 2013. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 8,750.00 (eight thousand seven hundred fifty) Euros or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
