                         Tender identification number:  EEPCO II /G-006/13

1.      This invitation for bid follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appear in Development Business issue No.  679 of June 7, 2007. 

    

2.      The Federal Government of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association towards the cost of Electricity Access Rural Expansion Project II, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for procurement ofConductor (tender No. EEPCO II /G-006/13 )

 

3.      The Ethiopian Electricity Power Corporation (EEPCO) now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for procurement of AAAC 95 mm2 Conductors under tender No. EEPCO II/G-006/13.

Bids will be evaluated for the package and the package has one item as follows

4.      Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures

Specified in the World Bank's Guidelines:- Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA credits, dated May 2004, revised October 1, 2006 and May 2010 is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5.   Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ethiopian Electric Power

 Corporation Universal Electric Access Program Office; Mr. Seifu Feyissa, EAREP II Project Manager,earepiibp@yahoo.com and inspect the bidding documents at the address below  from 8:00 AM up to 5:00 PM from Monday to Friday starting from  May 15, 2013.

 

6.   The bidder shall meet the followingexperience and financial capability:-

·     To qualify for the award of the package, bidders should have an average annual turn over for the past five years equivalent to 2 times their bid price offered for the package.

·     The bidder has successfully completed at least 3 similar contracts of comparable nature and value for the supply of electrical goods in the past five years.

·     The bidder's manufacturer has been manufacturing AAAC/ABC   conductor of similar size or greater than the offered sizes with an average annual output of at least twice the amount of the bid.

         Additionaldetails regarding qualification requirements are provided in the bidding documents.

 

7.    A complete set of Bidding Document in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the

        Submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee ETB 950.00 or in USD 50   from Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation, UEAP Finance, Dembel City Center, 11th floor, starting from May 15, 2013 .The method of payment shallbe in cash or cashier's cheque. The bidding document may also be sentby air mail or courier service for overseas bidders upon payment of anon refundable fee ETB 1150 or in USD 60 Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation, Universal Electricity Access Program (UEAP).

     Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation will not be responsible for the delay in the receipt of the bidding document dispatched by courier. No extension in the bid submission date is permissble on account of delay in receipt of bidding document.

 

8.    Bids must be deliveredto the address below at or before 2: 00 PM, July 02, 2013

        Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the

        Presence of bidders' or their representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below   at 2:30 PM July 02, 2013.   All bids must be accompained by a Bid Security in USD in the following amounts or equivalent In any freely convertible currency using the exchange rate of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, twenty eight days before deadline for bid submission.
