The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Ministryof Water, Irrigation and Energy has received financing in the amount of US$ 205 million equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.
The project will include the following components:
Component 1: Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene
Component 2: Urban Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene
Component 3: Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation
Which include Procurement of:
a) GOODS
v Field Vehicles, Motor Bicycles, DCI Pipes and Fittings, HDPE pipes and Fittings, uPVC Pipes and Fittings, GIS Pipes and Fittings, Water Meters, Valves, Water Tanks and Electromechanical Equipments.
b) WORKS
v Deep well drillings, well development and completionup to 500m
v Civil Works Contracts of Water Supply and SanitationProjects (Pipes laying, Water Reservoirs Construction up to 4000 m3, Treatment Plant Construction, Wet Well Construction, Booster Stations and Buildings.
c) CONSULTANCY
v Detail Design of Water Supply and Sanitation Projects
v Construction Supervision and Contract administration
Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the WorldBank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits January 2011, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers IBRD Loans and IDA Credits January 2011
Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank's international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures, as they become available, in UN Development Business and National Newspaper, Ethiopian Herald English language.
